Day of washing

Nothing like giving everything a bath when it's nice and hot outside! The dog hates it, but he stinks otherwise, so we toture him with water. The girls like to wash the car. However, they do a HORRIBLE job on it. I had to go back over it and rewash it. I think the next time, I will be giving directions so I can have them do it, without having to do the work myself :)
After finishing the was cycle, Sean was rinsing the car and the girls were running through the spray. Nothing like getting wet when it's hot outside!

Memorial Day 2010

We went to Moraine State Park again this year for Memorial Day. It was nice and warm, but cloudy most of the day. The event was actually our ward activity, so there were lots from church there. Kaitlin broke her arm a while ago and had to have it wrapped in plastic. Did not make for a most enjoyable day. She had to dig in the sand with one hand and keep the cast out of the water. Once lathered in sunscreen the girls, and all other kids, headed to the water. It was pretty nice, not too terribly cold, surprisingly enough. Although I will probably never get in lake water again, the kids loved it. After completing their time in the water, the girls headed to the dirt. I say dirt, because it's not really sand, it's dirt. The kids end up pretty grubby when they get done playing in it. Kurt does not like to get wet, but he likes to use squirt guns :) There were about 4 of these "guns" and the boys had lots of fun with them.
And Sean was volunteered to throw kids :) I'm not sure how this started but he ended up with a line of kids begging to be launched into the water. Luckily he works out and it wasn't too tiring for him. Right in the middle of the day the thunder rolled in, along with the lighting. Everyone had to get out of the water and wait. We were all debating whether to stay or not. We stood around looking at the sky and feeling a small amount of sprinkles, nothing major, but the sky was really dark. Found out from the ranger that the storm went right around us. yay! As soon as allowed everyone went right back into the water. Some were not as hearty as us, and left once it started to rain. We just put everything in the car and waited. The only crappy thing was having to unpack everything again, once the rain stopped. but a fun day nonetheless.
