Sean's latest calling

For the last couple of weeks Sean has had the newest calling in our ward of the "garden coordinator." Sounds interesting don't it :) This is the tiny garden that we put in. The bishopric wanted something to work on that we could donate to the welfare system of the church. I guess that was the purpose of this thing. The biggest problem with the location of the garden is that there is no water access for it. At ALL. None. It is about 200 yards from the church and there is no place on the outside of the church to hook up a hose to water anything. Sean had this great idea to use rain barrels. This waya we'd only have to fill the 55 gallon barrels once and then just top them off weekly. ha. That's what we hoped. As you can see by his expression things are not happening the way they were supposed to. The hoses leak even when turned off, so the one barrel is almost empty, and it only took 2 days to all leak out. ouch. so that means we have to take the barrel back up to the church and then back out to the garden. You don't even want me to explain that painful process. sigh, what a pain. hopefully we can get something figured out before the rain stops coming and the plants die.

Oh my gosh that would be my worst nightmare for a calling. I love to garden but I wouldn't want to be responsible for it for the ward. Lucky for me we live in the middle of the city and the only gardens that are allowed are those at the community garden in the community park.
